Biology

As part of the patient routine healthcare, biological samples (blood, cerebrospinal fluid and saliva) are collected in the participating centers and sent to the biobank of each center.

The patients involved belong to sub-populations of specific interest for research, called nested cohorts.

The samples are then processed by the biobank technicians and stored between -80°C and -196°C for long term storage, according to OFSEP standardized procedures. Furthermore, the collaboration between OFSEP and the Nantes biobank enables DNA extractions and storage. The multicenter biological sample collection is thus compiled and the associated data are centralized in the TumoroteK (TK®) database.
